The South African Diamond and Precious Metals Regulator (SADPMR) is pleased to inform stakeholders
and the public that its Diamond Valuators now offer a professional valuation service for loose, polished
diamonds to private individuals, businesses and institutions by appointment.
Valuations will be undertaken by experienced SADPMR Diamond Valuators using objective, transparent
and internationally recognised diamond valuation standards and professional practices. Each client will
receive an official valuation report for record keeping and valuation purposes.
The fee for polished diamond valuation starts from R1 000 per stone. The applicable fee shall vary
according to the size and value of the diamond and the nature of the valuation required. Clients will be
advised of the applicable fee before the valuation proceeds.
The service is available by appointment only and is separate from the SADPMR’s statutory regulatory
valuation functions. In providing this service, the SADPMR will maintain the standards of integrity,
confidentiality, and objectivity.
